The Thoroton Society is holding a panel event to discuss the miners’ strike of 1984-5, to mark its 40th anniversary. The panel will consist of representatives of mining families and historians. They will discuss the legacy of the strike in memory, heritage, and history, and will answer questions from the audience. The event will be chaired by Thoroton Society member John Hess.
